It's Been A While!!!

The move to Colorado is COMPLETE!!!  Honestly, I'm so blessed to look at this view every single day!  Pikes Peak never disappoints!

Some other good news...I've opened a new store for my jewelry designs.  Simply the Glitter is now open for business!!!  All my jewelry and gift decor are available at:

More to come...I've definitely gone through some life changes, but everything seems to be falling into place.  Now if I could just retire...

Simply the Glitter...now available on Artyah.com!!!

I'm sorry I've been MIA lately...been trying to get things loaded in my shop and also get things situated for my move to Colorado. Hopefully, everything will come together and the move will happen in February of 2018...the countdown is on and it's only 7 months away!!!  I'm so excited...my son and I are going out there in November to look for a house...and want to close sometime in January!

Now on to some news from the shop!!!  Right now I'm selling on Etsy (www.simplytheglitter.etsy.com) and Gypsy Spoonful (https://gypsyspoonful.com/market/vendor/simplytheglitter/).  But some things are now available on Artyah (https://www.artyah.com/seller/simplytheglitter). Trying to find different venues to sell on...so we'll see how this one works out!!

It's Been Awhile!!!

Well hello everyone!  It's been quite a while since I've posted any updates. Sometimes life gets in the way of all the crafting I'd like to be doing!

Here are some new things I'm working on:

The wooden snowmen were actually old decorations that I found at the thrift store and I repurposed them into some lovely winter decorations.  Here's how they looked before:

Some other good news...my son and I have started a countdown to our move to Colorado.  I'm so excited...this is my best friend Jennifer, who lives right next to Pike's Peak...We've been friends for almost 45 years...and I miss her so much!!! We're looking for condos/townhouses in the Colorado Springs area...so I'll only be about 20 minutes away from her!!

New Glass Shaker Snowmen!!!

So I was going through all my boxes of craft supplies and I came across a box that I'd been keeping my shaker bottles to make my snowmen.  Oh Lord...I didn't realize just how many I had...and yet, I keep buying more when I see a really cool shaped one...I add it to my supply.  So, I pulled out a bunch of the bottles, made the heads and started decorating.  Here's my little group of snowmen that are almost done and will be heading to my Etsy shop soon!!!

I really enjoy making these little guys and gals...each one has it's own personality. The only bad (not really "bad") thing is that there is literally glitter everywhere in my dining room!!! And with Thanksgiving less than 2 weeks away, I need to start cleaning off the table so that we can actually eat dinner there!!!

Pink Christmas in July!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone!  I've been in a "Christmas in July" mode lately!!!  At the end of the holiday season last year, I was at our local St. Vincent DePaul thrift store, and they had all their seasonal decor at 90% off....so my repurposing side came out and I bought so much stuff!  Here's what I created this week.  I really need to remember to take "before" pictures from now on!

New Pieces

My creativity finally came back!  I've been in the process of trying to move my son out to Colorado...we went there in May to look for houses and he had a few interviews.  Now, next week, we're driving and moving him out there.  :(

While I was out there in May, my bestie took me thrifting...oh boy, did I get some awesome stuff!!!  Had to ship it back since it didn't all fit in my suitcase!!! I got some amazing bottles for my shaker snowmen...and picked up a ton of jewelry!!!

I've decided I need a bigger house...I keep bringing more and more junk home!!!

The Steps to Completing my Shaker Snowmen!!!

I love creating snowmen!  There, I said it!!!  I collect them as well.  But creating them means giving each one their own personality!  

The heads were just made for these...and were drying!  

Their personalities were starting to come out...lol.  As you can see, earmuffs, cowboy hat, feathers, pearls...

Here's the finished crew!  Now I have to name them and take pictures so they can make their way to the Etsy shop!

I just love them...don't you?!!!

Also....I'll be putting up a discount code on my Etsy shop for Mother's Day...keep an eye out!

New Bracelets

Ahhhh....making jewelry is so relaxing...unless you have a super sized cut on your thumb and pushing on wire and beads is literally IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

I was cutting an onion on Sunday...and sliced right through my left thumb...needless to say, it makes it almost impossible to bend wire and bead! Here's a picture of my work table...I was trying to wire wrap that top bar of the the buckle necklace is front....not happening until I can get the cut healed just a little more...very frustrating!!!

I do love how it turned out before hand tho...I just don't like how the cross charms slide around...which is why I'm going to try the wire wrapping!  Stay tuned!

There's a hint of spring in the air here in Wisconsin...should be in the 50's on Saturday...YAY!!!  I'm thinking it's time to convert the closet in our spare room into my craft area...we'll see if THAT happens!!
